Background We are a "Family Farm" located in the Central San Joaquin Valley of California. The San Joaquin Valley is the most productive valley in the world! The soil textures range from sandy to clay and allow for a wide variety of crops. In Kings County where we are located dairy farms have been the largest revenue producers, demanding alfalfa hay, corn silage, and other forage crops which in turn has created a great market for our crops! With the economic crash in 2008, the results have been devastating to the dairy industry. In early 2008 dairies were receiving about $24 per one hundred pounds weight of milk. Demand for milk products dropped and almost over night milk was down to $8 per one hundred pounds. This price drop destroyed the demand for hay products. The results are lower prices for the buyer of hay! In a tough market only the highest quality hay that is reasonably priced will survive. We work to hard to bring great quality hay to our customers. It's not just hard work, the climate and soils allow for high quality production of hay. The climate allows us to produce and process hay with the right nutrients and moisture for any animal. It is necessary for the hay to be the right quality for the needs of the animals you feed. From horses, beef-cattle, sheep, goats, or dairy cows, we will provide the hay that suits your needs. Farming has been a part of our family for hundreds of years. Our ancestors raised grapes, figs, and vegetables on the Azores Islands. They migrated in the early 1900's to the United States. Farming has always been a part of their life. We are the third generation farmers in the San Joaquin Valley. Farming has been a very rewarding lively hood and a great way to raise a family! We all work on the farm and understand the rewards of hard work. Honesty and Integrity are very important to us! The greatest reward are the people we do business with!! From Cow Dairies, Goat Dairies, Horse Stables, to individuals. All have told us how great our product is. An additional reward is knowing you have tried your best to help people receive the best product at the right price.
